I Shouldn't Admit To Liking Reality TV As Much As I Really Do

I was already cheering for Evan whatever-his-last-name-is on Dancing with the Stars. Cheering in the sense that I want him to win---not that I voted for him. In my mind, if I don't vote for people then I'm not really sucked into the show, right? Just agree with me, okay? Plus, I really like Evan's partner. I liked her better with Chuck Lidell, but I think that's cuz I liked Chuck better. She's probly still the same person. But anyway, here's a quote from Evan last night which makes me like him even more:

"It's just such a positive show, and there's so much stuff on TV right now that's not positive. You've got murder mysteries, shows about rehab, or trashy love shows. "Dancing With the Stars" is truly a positive show and you watch people go through a brand new challenge and face the fear. And it's a show you can watch with your whole family."

How can you not like someone that says things like that? If only there were more people like him, TV might be cleaner! Maybe, maybe I'm guilty of watching those trashy love shows. And I do like Psych, but that's less a murder mystery and more a mystery comedy where sometimes there's murder. So, that's okay, right? Please. But I've never watched the rehab stuff, so that's something.

I wonder if there is an intervention for you?
As long as you aren't watching totally trashy shows....well, you are all good.

I haven't gotten into DWTS. It conflicts with NCIS.

Are you still watching Biggest Loser? Because they are looking really good! and I'm soooooooo over gray team. I want the orange curly haired (I think it's Darin or Daryl) to win!

Who wants a reality show with good family values? Not me!

I'm proud to say I have not been sucked in by any of those reality shows! But, hey, we all have our guilty pleasures. :)

I am an American Idol girl, but my first love is Biggest Loser. I am for Daria too!

All I watch is reality tv anymore. I've been warped permanently and I'm happy about it!

Go EVAN! I haven't actually watched him dance, but I really liked him during the Olympics. He seems like a nice, classy gentleman. I will classify DWTS as "a show you can watch with your whole family" when the women start wearing entire outfits.

I've never seen DWTS yet! I admit to being hooked too much on reality TV too. Darn that hulu.com!

Ok I am right there with you about watching too much reality TV. Especially the Bravo channel. In fact have you ever watch that show about the three guys who sale million dollar real estate in LA. I can't think of the name right now, but the one guy on there with the longer hair that he is obsessed with, well I think his voice sounds exactly like Evan's. It is really strange.

Anyway, I have only watched DWTS off and on and mostly when Donny Osmond was on. My only concern about it being a good family show is the fact that the girls are mostly naked. I am not really a fan of watching it with my two teen age boys. Seriously girls put some clothes on. That said, I do tape it and watch it when they are not around, so how is that for parental hypocrisy?

Ooh, I agree. Reality tv is awesome. Did you Celeb Apprentice last week? It was even inspiring. And Chuck is always great, although it's not reality tv, per say. And of course there is always American Idol.

I usually get into DWTS, but I haven't this year. I think it's the same time as Chuck. Is Pam Anderson still on? I did see Kate a few times. YIKES!

I LOVE YOU! Why? You may ask.
Because you watch Psych which is my all time favorite show!! ha Ha
(well now that Monk is over) but Psych rocks!

DWTS - I do like Evan - I liked him when he skated and won gold and I like him on the dance floor but I have to admit I like Nicole and Derek a tad more. So hard when you like two.

It is cool what he said though. He's a good guy!

I'm not a DWTS watcher... but have a ton of other reality shows I love. I don't know why the genre called to me as soon as it started... but I was hooked with the first season of Real World a billion years ago!

I'm with Egan...love me some Gibbs on NCIS. The only reality TV I see is reality murder stuff. Yes...I am sick and warped. But is does make me feel better about my boring life.

I don't vote on any show for that very reason. I'm technically not sucked in because I don't have to vote for my favorite. I really wish the Pussy Cat Doll weren't on. Not that I don't like her, but hello! She's already a professional. It's not a fair fight with her there.

I'm not a big DWTS fan. I've watched it a couple of times but can't seem to get into it.

On the other had I do watch Intervention and Hoarders on a regular basis.

I like reality TV, too, although we don't really have TV, so I only watch online sometimes.

But I love what he said. He sounds like a good person to win. :)

i only watch LOST, so I can't speak to reality TV. But I'm pretty sure I wouldn't like it.

I used to totally mock Reality TV and all who watched it. Now I mock it less because I occasionally watch. ;o) I've never watch DWTS but do enjoy Biggest Loser. Although I haven't even watched that this year. Any TV I watch lately seems to involve animation.

True confessions...I used to watch The Osbourne's on MTV. Yes, it's true. Made me feel so normal. And the constant bleeping to cover the obscenities was kind of like background music. It was a nice touch.

I especially love that show now that Pamela Anderson is gone! Woohoo!!!
