Seriously. Almost died. On Mt. Timpanogas. Remember one time when I said I hate hiking? And that I never, ever wanted to hike Timp? Well, somehow I ended up doing it. I blame my annoyingly persistent brothers who changed the date they were going just so I could go. How do you say no to that? I'm not gonna lie---part of it was enjoyable. But not enjoyable enough to outweigh the scary parts. Or the part where I almost died sliding down a glacier. Okay, maybe I didn't almost die, but other people did. I'm talking broken tailbones, bloody legs...all that. I was overly cautious and thus, came out physically unharmed but mentally destroyed. I'd give you pictures of the Snow Slide of Satan, but I don't have them yet. Maybe next time. I think I'm scowling in most pictures. Or giving a not-very-sincere smile. And the hike is LONG! Longer than a marathon. Whatever. I did it and can confidently say I'll never do it again.
And now time for round four. Since this is gonna end up with three winners---I'll take the two with the most votes for the final round. And if one of them is Harry Potter I quit.
Guy Patterson vs. Gene Kelly
Harry Potter vs. Hugh Jackman
Jack Callahan vs. Gilbert Blythe

You must post pictures of your hike. It's the only way I'll ever see it - because I am really never gonna hike Timp. The caves are enough for me.
My votes:
Gene Kelly
Hugh Jackman
Gilbert Blythe
P.S. I'm glad you didn't die.
Guy and Hugh. Guy and Hugh.. Ok, just Guy.
I almost died going down the river this weekend too! It must be the week of almost dying. But then we saw a bunch of beavers and muskrats working on the banks so it was OK.
I am not lying when I say that I did that exact slide down that Glacier, on that hike, when I was 17 and a new Freshman at BYU. It scared the living CRAP out of me and I still haven't forgotten all these years (decades - ha ha) later. I feel your pain! But isn't it fun when you make it to the top. Do they still have that little shack up there where you can sign your name?
GLAD you lived!! :-D
Ok My picks:
Guy Patterson
Hugh Jackman
Jack Callahan
I have no idea how the game is played but dog dang- you hiked Timp! My spouse has done it but I will likely NEVER be in good enough shape to do it nor have I likely ever been in good enough shape! LOL!
Then again, my spouse couldn't do it now either. Poor guy, when I met him he'd just ridden the Alpine Loop on his mountain bike and now he'd have a cardiac event after the first few miles. I've really ruined that guy!
You are my HERO(ine)!!! And I'm extremely glad you didn't die!!
You are truly my new hero. I don't do up.
I do want to see all the scooting pictures.
I also would like to see the pix of you shaking hands with Satan.
Ya for you doing it. Next summer we have to get together and see if we can't hike Table Rock together. My hubs is insisting that I try it again.
Oh......Gilbert Blythe!
Okay, I take Hugh Jackman over Harry Potter and Gilbert Blythe over ALL OF THEM.
I think hiking is considered torture in some countries. Or it would be, if I were ruling countries.
My votes are: Gene Kelly, Hugh Jackman and Gilbert Blythe.
I don't know why anyone would EVER vote for Harry Potter. Unless they were joking. Or horribly disturbed.
Gene Kelly. Guy Patterson is great, but sometimes he talks weird. Like the time when he whispers into the phone, "I am spartacus."
Hugh Jackman. Who is voting for Harry Potter? If it was Ron then they'd be excused, but Harry Potter?
Gilbert Blythe. While I do love a man that could make me a rocking chair, I think I'll pick Gil.
Good for you! Now you need to do it at night when there is a full moon. :)
And ditto to Becky. :)
Never say never. You will be back next year...! Snow Slide of Satan though? YIKES!
I like hiking, but only on flat trails. Lol
Crazy, but in all the years I lived in Utah, I NEVER went to Timpanogas.
snow slide of Satan... Is that what you called it???
wow..GOOD FOR YOU, tackling Satan and all.
I'd love to hike Timp someday, just to say I did it. As for the guys: Gene Kelly (he always has 'dignity'), Hugh Jackman (thanks to you showing me videos of him singing!) and Gilbert Blythe.
I absolutely love the Lorax and Dr. Seuss!
Sandy
I don't plan on sliding down that glacier...it's too dangerous. But I'm excited to make it to the top. But I like to hike. I'm glad it wasn't you with the broken tailbones or bloody legs. Yikes!
OK so we had a road trip this past weekend and Ryan (the oldest) gets in the car and starts telling us how he and some friends got up at 3:00 in the morning to Hike Timp. - I started freaking out about that stupid Glacier and how could he be so stupid to do that in the middle of the night...Didn't he learn a freakin' thing in scouts....
Then he told me they got lost and never made it - SO THEY ARE GOING TO DO IT AGAIN!! UGHHHHHHHHHHHH
I have no idea how to play the game! Whatever it is, it looks intriguing!
Hiking Timp? I wouldn't be caught dead doing that because I would probably die. Not the push-myself-to-my-physical-limits kind of gal. But awesome you did!
Holy cow, you hiked Mt. Timp?!?!?! You are amazing--total nightmare of an idea for me!
Gene
Hugh
Gil
I have NEVER hiked Mt. Timp...for a reason! It's too dang hard! Kudos to you for attempting and DOING it! Tell us the truth, aren't you glad your brothers insisted you go so you can feel a sense of accomplishment? Do I hear a yes? :)
Gene Kelly
Hugh Jackman
Gilbert Blythe
I've only made it to the caves. That was enough for me. I preferred to look a Timp (my parents' house has a glorious view of it), rather than hike it. Glad you're still alive!!
Hugh Jackman
Gilbert Blythe
Gene Kelly
