Things I Think

-I don't like when shows have a "Coming Up" right before commercial break. I feel like it spoils things. I understand doing a "Next Week On" type thing, but if the show is just breaking for 3 minutes, you can relax. I'll see what's coming up then.

-I love Marisa Tomei. She's so cute. I just watched her episode of 'Who Do You Think You Are' (great show) and she speaks Italian! How awesome is that?

-Almost as awesome as Steve Martin playing banjo. Yep-he plays banjo. And he's good!

-The phrase, "heart of hearts." What does that even mean? I get irrationally irritated when people say it.

-My Fair Lady has an awful ending. Why doesn't she marry Freddy?

-Even though the world is sometimes kinda scary, (which freaks me out) there are still lots of good people in it (which gives me hope)! My dad and I went to Costco the other day to purchase some very large, very heavy items. Loading them into the cart, pushing them around and getting them into the car would not have been possible were it not for the many very nice, very much complete strangers that offered to help. Seriously, I was amazed at how many people we willing to stop what they were doing to help us. I wanna be that type of person.

-Finally, I'm addicted to Kraft instant mac&cheese. That's healthy, right?

I totally don't get the ending of my fair lady. Why does she go back to him? Seriously? He does nothing worth getting her back beyond insulting her. It annoys me every time.

I agree 100% about the coming up thing. Seriously. Takes half the fun out of watching a show.

And I hadn't thought about the ending of My Fair Lady! I just love it so much. But you're right about that one, too. Although I don't think she should have married Freddie. He's a little too obsessive...

I love your strangers helping experience. Especially after the news items you linked to. Yikes. I've been a little obsessed about the Powell situation because I'm friends with Susan Powell's sister (she served her mission in Poland). It's horrific.

That's not a happy note to end a comment on. Sorry!

BTW, in the original play she doesn't go back to him. They changed it cuz people like the happy ending better.
Perhaps you never had Kraft mac&cheese growing up? That's why I always craved it.

I think when people say "Heart of Hearts" they really want to emphasize their own heart, the one sitting there, beating in their chest right then, and not all the hearts they have tucked away in storage, in case of emergency.

I love fake mac and cheese. I didn't even know such a thing as baked mac and cheese existed until college.

You think good things.
I LOVE Steve Martin and his banjo and group. Great blue grass.

Not a fan of kraft mac and cheese. I'll only eat it if it's homemade.

I agree with My Fair Lady. Henry Higgins was a bit of a jerk.

I have a little fun story to tell you about Human goodness. Last year, after thanksgiving when they have those outrageous crazy hour sales.
My son and DIL went to WalMart and bought a 52 inch flat scree tv. Well, they forgot to realize it wouldn't fit in their car. A man saw them struggling (and this was at 4:00 A.M. He came over and told them he had a truck and he'd be happy to drive it home for them. He said one of you can ride in the truck with me so you don't think I'm trying to leave with it.
So, he got it in his truck, drove it to their house, helped them carry it into the house.
a complete stranger. SO COOL !!!

We had Kraft mac-n-cheese for dinner last night. Yum!

Also loved Marisa on WDYTYA, and I always quickly skip the "coming up next" part because I also hate the next segment to be ruined.

P.S. Have you heard the album Plastic Moon by Madi Diaz? Don't know if you'll like it, but you're always suggesting good music to me, so I thought I'd share something I recently found.

I love that Steve Martin plays the Banjo and I love how you think!

Heart of hearts?? Maybe it's when they cover those cherry jujube hearts in chocolate. The sticky cherry goodness is the heart of the heart...hmmm. Well I've eaten enough of them that they are the heart of my heart.

Oh, the things I learn from Barbaloot. Steve Martin is pretty impressive on the banjo!
I think I always fell asleep before the ending of My Fair Lady.
And about once every 4 months I crave and then enjoy boxed mac and cheese. Then I'm ok for awhile.
Those are my things I think.

I like the ending of "My Fair Lady". It's not romantic but it is realistic. The Dude isn't suddenly going to grow a heart! Perhaps my cynical-ness is because I've dealt with a lot of fundraising stuff lately and the "upper crust" whom are not particularly impressive in real life. Been feeling a bit Eliza Doolittle myself except it's more like Cindy Domuch so we don't have to!

You crack me up - I love the randomness!!

I have never watched My Fair Lady to the end. Maybe now I never will!!

Love me some Steve Martin playing the Banjo - that guy is forever funny!

Oh my gosh My Fair Lady has the worst ending ever. I hate it and don't think I will ever watch it again just because of it. Agree on the heart of hearts too.

Part of the reason I can't get behind a lot of the contemporary literary fiction is that so much of it comes from a place of despair about human nature. And I don't believe that. I see so many good things happen all the time that I not only do I choose to believe people are inherently good, I think it's an actual fact.

Will you still be my friend if I say I've never seen My Fair Lady?
Cuz I haven't.

Kraft Mac and Cheese? Really?
You ought to fry it and see if that enchances the flavor.

I feel like shows that have those "coming up" segments are stretching to fill the time and it bugs me...big time.

And I believe in good people. The world would be a sad place if I didn't. I'm glad that there were good people there to help out at Costco.

It's nice to know that nice people still exist. That's what should be reported on the news. Nothing wrong with mac and cheese!
That's cool that you play the banjo. You should do a duet with Steve!

Are you referring to the Bachelor in your first statement? Doesn't every episode have a preview of what is going to be shown on that episode? Lame?
Marisa Tomei was so cute - How adorable were all of her outfits? I loved that episode.
That banjo video is awesome. You know how I feel about Freddy and Eliza. Yay for nice people at Costco!
