I've Never Voted for a Reality Contestant...

...and never been more tempted to than I was last night.

As a general rule, I avoid Dancing with the Stars because I absolutely abhor Bruno Tonioli. His ridiculously pretentious accent grates on my ears and his attempts at being witty and simultaneously shocking make me cringe. And also, Carrie Anne Inaba is just as bad. Saying mean things while acting nice is worse than just being plain mean. No one is fooled by your act.

That being said, I have watched a little bit this season. And mostly because of Rocco. I'm pretty sure that if he plays guitar that he is my dream man. I think he is so cute and funny. Granted, he's not the best dancer I've ever seen, but does he really deserve to get kicked off before Cloris? Truly? Her very presence is like a black hole that sucks out all possibilities of intelligent conversation.

So, I'm still not voting. But if I did, I'd fully vote for Rocco. And if he does get kicked off tonight, then I will only be tuning in on the parts where Cody Linley performs. He's almost as cute as Rocco...but he needs to be 10 years older.

Did you ever see Rocco's reality show, when he was openeing up his restaurant. He's kind of an ass. But, a hot ass.

Oh how sad! I wanted him to be cute and charming. Maybe I can just keep pretending that he is...

Yeah, I saw that Rocco show. And he was a bit annoying, but aren't chefs known for being tempermental?

I don't watch Dancing With the Stars, but I saw a clip of Cloris' performance on "The Soup" and that was some seriously messed up dancing! I just sat there, with my mouth hanging open in shock.

I don't watch it. but I did see cloris on The Soup doing something bad and it looked retarded. it was something between the crab walk and maybe a karma sutra posistion. and I threw up.

I agree! Bruno does seem a little TOO European to be real. And Cloris is only on this season for comic relief, which is a terrible comment on our times. If someone who dances that badly stays on any longer, I'm not going to watch it anymore. She really drives me up the wall.

I missed it last night, but I'm rooting for Derek and his model-partner whose name escapes me. Rooting in spirit, that is. I would never stoop low enough to actually waste cell phone minutes or even a single email to participate in such frivolity.

Rocco was sent home. I feel like a little part of me just died inside.

de-lurking alert

I have to disagree about Cloris, which probably isn't a nice way to de-lurk :) Rocco isn't going to even come close to winning anything. I like him on this show, but I saw his reality show a couple years ago, and he was kind of a jerk. But that doesn't bother me - he just can't dance, so it's not so bad that he's gone already. Yes I know, Cloris can't dance eitherand she's gone over the top in terms of silliness at times. But I can't believe even people who don't like her couldn't find something in her performance from last night to admire. She's 82 for crying out loud - over twice my age - and she danced that Tango better than I could ever do. Her partner turned her in a full circle with her leg nearly higher than her head. She twirled and twirled, got dipped, and last week she tried to do a hand stand in practice. She's in amazing physical shape!!! I could only hope to be half as agile and mentally with it as she is at her age. Even if you don't like her brand of humor and her sometimes colorful langauge, you've got to give her props where props are due. And now I've written far too much about Cloris Leachman, and on a de-lurking no less.

Peace :)

Wow-didn't know I had a lurker. Thanks for commenting!
I'm bummed to hear the Rocco is a jerk. I guess the grand total of 10 minutes that I watched him on the show that part of him didn't come out. Odd... :)
That being said, Cloris did do well this week, but considering all her other performances, I'm not sure she deserved to be on long enough to do that well. Ya know?

I really think I need to watch an episode this year so I can check out this "Cloris". At work everyone just goes on, and on, about how bad she is, and I think I need a visual. Hopefully it won't be too painful.

Actually, I don't think Rocco is a jerk. I think the producers of his show were pressuring him to be that way to make the show more edgy (I saw him talk about this in an interview), but unfortunately, it only served to wreck his business and reputation. So I'm glad he's been on DWTS to restore his good name. I like him too!

Btw, I think you are related to, or are friends with my friend Trisha. I've seen your comments on her blog.

I think they leave Cloris on DWTS because I think the judges are afraid she'll find their houses and burn them to the gound... She's a little scary.

AMEN.

Seeing Rocco go made me reset my Tivo. Why didn't that russian chica fall for him? He's so cute and wholesome and totally kissable in a kind of uncoordinated way.

I also hate the way the announcer says "Carrie Anne Inaba". It sounds like he can't say his R's even though there isn't one in her name.

I dream of the day that I will enter a reality contest...but I don't think I would like dancing with the stars...I think I would be very successful at the bachelorette...but I am married so that puts a kink in things.

I'm with you on this one...Cloris needs to go...but Rocco may not be able to dance, but he cooks, and I'll take that any day!!!
