It's Not a Resolution.

I have this thing about resolutions. I hate them. (I feel okay about linking to my own blog on this because it was written before 90% of you knew I existed.) Anyway, resolutions=no way.

However, I do have two plans for this year. I'm going to run a half marathon, and then I'm going to run a full marathon. I believe since I have already registered and paid for them, begun training and started logging my work-outs onto Nike running, (which is the coolest thing ever)(the website, not my workouts)-that they are not resolutions. They are plans. They will happen. In March. And then May.

If I live that long.

P.S. You can still comment on my last blog for the giveaway. The drawing is in 8 days!

Will you run them in the nude, for me?

Oh, and I am not even joking when I say that I am eating a Hot Fugdge malt with PB cups in it, from Arctic Circle.

You are such a motivated, wonderful person. Is your resolution to make me feel bad about myself, because BINGO! you have succeeded!

Barbaloot, you inspire me to be a better person...at least for a day or two. Two marathons?!? I would have to say that those are a little bit more than simply "plans."

Will you adorn some sort of special Barbaloot Suit for each of the runs? I would avoid the suggestion to run naked from Kristina P. The other participants may gawk. :)

In all seriousness, best of luck to you!

I hate running. I think it's disgusting. But deep down in my black hole of a heart, I harbor a little bit of human love for people who like to run. So good luck to you this year!

Two marathons is amazing. I have to say one half of one marathon would be a lifetime goal of mine. Good for you!!

Oh, my name is barbara and I am so good. I just run like 20 miles a day, and I am getting so skinny, and I probably started running before I knew how to walk, and I just run like 8 min miles, and I have these awesome shoes and a nano that track everything, and I am just so cool, and important.

Way to go!! That's how I started the triathlon thing.. paid for it and started training. Go u!

And I can't believe u crochet! I crochet up a storm and get REALLY upset when anyone fails to mentions someone I know had a baby. I HAVE to give away baby things I have stockpiled... um... just a few things I have laying around I mean... so I can make more!

Plus, its so nice to feel productive while watching TV :-)

looks like we have similar plans for this year. let's hope we both don't fail miserably.

You've inspired me. I want to run a marathon too... sometime in 2014.

I think that's a reasonable goal.

Two things I hate, and they both start with R. Resolutions & Running.

But....I have great respect and admiration for people who can run. It hurts my knees like H-E-double hockey sticks, but I realize that running is like a religion to some people. So, worship the running gods that be and win that marathon, baby! Win it for the gimpy, wimpy people who can't even jog to the mailbox!

I hate running. HATE it!

But I put people who run on a pedestal in my mind because they are obviously amazing in every way. And crazy too.

Will one of those marathons be the las vegas marathon? Because it totally should be! Or even the Disneyland marathon. If it's either of those, I'll be right there cheering you on. ;)

Are you doing the Moab half marathon? Alison is, too!!!

So funny. It's kind of like how I don't "diet" but go on a "plan". I don't know why it's different, but it is.

(And two marathons is some serious stuff! Good luck on that, and may the Force be with you.)

Good... I should have done that! No resolutions!

But Congrats on the running...what a BIG accomplishment...once you accomplish them! :)

Wow....maybe I should "plan" to run like to the mailbox or something.....in May.....then I wouldn't feel so threatened by your awesome running-ness.

And that was TOTALLY not a resolution.

I could be getting this wrong, but: "plan the work, then work the plan".

Good luck on your plans ahead!

Wow, that is good of you. Me + any kind of marathon-ness = NO WAY! I hate running unless these's some sort of ball or frisbee involved. If there isn't, after two minutes the sound of my heart beating and hard breathing lets me think that I just might die if I don't stop! :)

Thanks for the comment. It's good to hear that other people also believe that Vicky is Satan and The Biggest Loser is serious stuff!

Wow, I absolutley have had no desire ever to put myself through that kind of torture and admire you for it. Although I did walk a 30 min mile yesterday on my lunch(Inspired by Bob and Jillian telling America to just go for a walk) and I'm feeling it today.
It's pathetic, I know.

I'm just plain ole impressed. Always wanted to be a runner and for reasons not worth mentioning it didn't happen. Is it too corny to say "you go girl".
You'll have to post which marathons you are going to run in. You might end up having a cheerleading section.

I'm glad I could confirm your suspicions. Yes, they are LDS and are all wonderful people. I've been looking at your blog and you are hilarious. I don't even know you and I already like you. :)

I agree - I never make resolutions. I don't want to be disappointed when they don't happen!!!

I do like goals - don't ask me what the difference is - its just different.

Good luck with your marathons!!!

That is so awesome! You go, girl! Wish I had thought to make that resolution. Oops, I mean plan!

Wow! So ambitious, best wishes. Chug the Pepto Bismol, and things should go well for you - keep you alive.

If you want any advice from me on your training, ask away. Training and completing my first and only marathon was a good learning experience for me.

Good luck with your marathons. Those are two things I could never do. SO kudos... I only have to worry about not holding grudges... but the new season of The Bachelor just started so we'll see how that goes.

Good work on the running. I have become quite the half marathon runner too and cannot get enough of them. They are addicting. I am still trying to see if I will ever make the switch to full though. My very first race I signed up for the full then didn't train enough so, I just ran the half instead. That alone took a lot out of me. But man, the rush you will get is indescribable. Now every time I run I picture the finish line at my various events. I commend you and say keep it up!

Those are two great non-resolutions for 2009. I wish I had it in me to run... but alas, I don't.
Good luck with the marathons!
