Glamour Shot Envy

Kristina is hosting a glamour shot party over at her blog today and I have turned a serious shade of green.

All my life I wanted to have a glamour shot!! I remember the ones my older cousins got together and couldn't wait till I was "mature" enough to do that with my cousins. I planned so many times what I would wear, how I would pose, how I'd do my hair. Or rather, how I'd have my hair done since I don't know how to do anything besides brush and straighten my hair. I even had a photographer picked out! He took my baptism pictures, my performing-with-an-orchestra-newspaper pictures, our family pictures, he's even promised to come out of retirement for my wedding pictures. (He's not retired yet, but clearly he will be if that time ever comes.)

Bottom line? I never got my glamour shot! I waited patiently to get my braces off: nothing. Waited till I turned 16: nothing. Waited till I graduated: nothing. Not fair. The closest thing I have to a glamour shot it at the bottom of this post which totally doesn't count cuz there was no glamour involved and I never had any delusion that what I was doing could be considered glamourous.

When do I get my glamour shot? If you want to see pictures of the lucky people that DID get their glamour shots, go here.

Some people have told me that my glamour shot isn't glamorous enough. I didn't quite cake enough makeup on! Maybe you and I should get some REAL glamour shots taken together. That'll show them!

Sounds like a lot of fun, but I don't ever like any photo of me. WHen my BFF came over to take a new profile picture for my blog I seriously tossed out about 30 shots before settling on one. I don't think make up and big hair will fix that.

There realy is still a coverlook place in business up in Sandy. I dont know how much they charge but maybe it'd be worth it!!! :) Haha. I mean we all gotta have one someday

I'm sure there's an expired Glamour Shots $10 off coupon in someone's closet SOMEWHERE! We need to make your dreams come true!

You're right, that one is not glamorous, just beautiful. Those are two distinctly different things. Glamour can be made fun of, beauty cannot. :)

I remember having Glamour shot envy as well! Well, only once... right after I ran into one of my church friends at the mall after she had gotten one for her birthday. I guess I didn't really think about it again until now.

Ah... Memories.

I always wanted one too!! Now, I CAN'T go over there, because I will be all sad.

You should go get a glamour shot done THIS WEEK! You know, just for being you. And you should ask for a Dr. Seuss background. And don't worry about the cost - I'll start a get-Barbaloot-a-glamour-shot fund so you won't have to spend a penny. It's totally doable. :)

I'd post a glamour shot of me but it might incriminate the other two people in the picture.

I've never had a glamour shot either... I think we should run off to the mall and sit in one of those photo booths instead :)

NOne for me either. Altho I did waste a couple of rolls of film with my friends occasionally, they never looked like the real thing.

I always wanted to get glamour shots too! And I never got them either. How horrific is the world when 16 year olds don't get to have glamour shots?!! I think I might move to a new planet. One where glamour shots are traditional and probably required.

well, the photos of when we were young are the most fun and cutest anyway.
Glamour shots are overrated. Mine made me look like a "ho"
so just get someone to take your photos, get all dolled up, and call it good.
everyone should look like a "ho" at least once in their lives (tee, hee)

Leave it to KP to find a yellow brick road for you! :) Its not too late Barb. lol.

I never got one either, and I've never regretted it more than I do this week. My sisters got them but I was waiting for my braces to come off. Then they got all uncool (although secretly I still think they're freaking cool).

Ahhh, pastels! Glamour shots just cost a lot of money so be glad you didn't get one done. (sour grapes)

Looks like you and your cousin are close. That's cool.

That's so funny! I'm glad that I never got glamour shots! Although I still dream of being pretty enough! You are gorgeous just as you are!

I'm ok not having a glamour shot. Our picture is close enough for me. :) But if you really want, I can make you look all fancy and take a picture wih my camera!

You are a darling girl. Every photo of you is a glamour shot. (Should I be concerned that the word verification is ackholos? I mean, really--last time it was muduckie. I swear these are not random. How do I get a job making up these words?)

How can the fabulous Barbaloot not have glamor shots? I think something must be wrong with the world.

I think it is high time that you buy a camera, grab a friend, and solve this egregious omission.

You should be grateful you dodged that bullet! I think glamor shots are horrifying. I never wanted them done. :)

So glad to be reading you again! You are awesome!

No glamor shot here... I have a friend who had one done and it is poster sized hanging in her den... very odd.
