Thanksgiving and Such

Because it's almost Thanksgiving and because I want to show gratitude like everyone else, this is my list of things for which I'm thankful. My brain is a little full right now of all the things I have to get done today (and tomorrow...and the day after that) so I couldn't even think of a decent title for this post. All I had were titles of hymns and elementary school songs running through my head. Anyway, this is my superficial list of "thankfuls" (cuz the non-superficial list would be long. And heavy):
1. I'm grateful for pretzel m&ms (big shocker there).
2. I'm grateful I worked out before I weighed myself today. If I had weighed first I probly would have gotten back in bed, pulled the covers over my head and cursed the world. Oh, and I would have eaten pretzel m&ms.
3. I'm grateful that the ward Thanksgiving dinner that I have been planning will be over and done with in about 6 hours.
4. I'm grateful that I'm learning now, and not later, that planning a dinner for an entire ward is a stupid idea and I'll never do it again.
5. I'm grateful my office is closed Thursday and Friday.
6. I'm grateful for my three youngest nephews. They're very cute and very sweet and very fun to hold.
7. Fine. I'm grateful for all the other nephews, too. And nieces.
8. I'm grateful abc puts episodes of Dancing with the Stars online so I can watch them the next day.
9. I'm grateful for yams.
10. I'm grateful I live in Provo. Very close to my parents and several siblings. (Fine-that wasn't superficial.)

Also, my cousin and her husband have recently started a non-profit business that supports families in third world countries. They are selling handmade clothes, jewelry, bags etc. made by workers in India and 100% of the profits go toward humantitarian projects. Their website has all the information and, lucky for you, there are products that would make great Christmas presents! So go check it out. You're welcome.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I don't even want to plan Thanksgiving for me and Adam! We let Mimi's cafe do that.

I can't imagine planning and doing a Ward dinner for thanksgiving. I hope it worked out well!

Haven't tried the pretzel M&M's

I really don't need one more vice.

I've still managed to resist those darn M&M's....but you're not helping, you know.

And good luck with cooking for your ward! That doesn't really sound very fun, but I hope you have fun anyway.

So your dinner must be over now. I'll bet it was great.

I'm not grateful for scales all that much. I think as a gift to yourself this holiday season you should throw yours away.

Barb you are hilarious! I am so so SAD to be missing Thanksgiving with your family this year - this will be my first time not being there in...6 years!!! Crazy. Sad.

Barb! What a cool link you included there at the bottom! How thoughtful. I always enjoy your blog, of course, but that was a bonus for the day :)

Good list! I would have to add that I'm thankful to you for introducing me to my 5 lb bag of pretzel M&Ms.

I love your thanksgiving thankful list. And I see how your priorities work....putting the pretzel M&M's at the top. (tee, hee)
I haven't tasted those yet.

ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND....taking on the task of feeding your ward. You WILL go to heaven for that you know.

I am thankful DWTS will be over tonight. I am kinda "over" it. I think KYLE is hysterical. I don't care who wins actually.

and....I. WILL. NOT. be watching Skating with the Stars....seriously?? enough

Thanks so very much for thinking of me and my family at this time and your kind words.
I AM THANKFUL for all the support and love I have received.
wow
thankful

Ahh, the gratitude list! I must admit, I could give up my peanut M&Ms for the pretzel kind! They're delish!
I hope your dinner went well. That's a ton of people to feed!
I'm heading over to your cousin's website.
Happy Thanksgiving to you, too!

Since you gave such a good list, I'll share my secret- I got the Wild Cherry M&M's at a gas station in Spanish Fork. Little convenience store a few blocks in on the main drag. I have never seen them before- or since. You might want to go and buy LOTS of them!

Borrowed kids are the BEST kids!

Those are a lot of things to be thankful for. And I too love yams!

I need to try Pretzel M&Ms, I just don't know if I can that one commercial out of my head (the one where the pretzel cracks it's knuckles and says "let's get this over with"). There's something strange about making personalities out of our food I just don't get.

Pretzel M&Ms would be at the top of my list, before children and husband (especially husband since I'm a little torked at him right now! He crashed the other computer and is trying to blame it on the rest of us!)
Rock on sista friend!...i know that sounded corny didn't it...

I probably have to join you in thinking a ward dinner for Thanksgiving is not a good idea. :)
To use some serious Utahspeak, "Bless you heart." You'll have to update us and let us know how it went.

I hope your day was Happy.

Back in the day I put on a thanksgiving dinner for my whole singles ward too...and yes, it was overload on me and I swore I would never do that again! Hope yours turned out great and that you were able to relax to the max afterwards!
