New Things

Things that are new about me in 2011.

-New boots. I like them---but I feel like a poser. I mean, I've never worn boots like this, so what makes me think I can actually pull it off? I feel weird. But I still like them.

-New blog background! Okay, so that hasn't happened yet. But we're working on it. And when I say "we" I mean someone that's not me that won't blow up a computer if they try anything besides emailing and blogging.

-New ward calling. I'm the ward picture-taker now. Best calling ever? I think so.

-New couches. As awesome as it was having a wide open, basically empty living room, I thought I'd be kind enough to provide my guests with a place to sit when they come to visit now.

-New title. I'm a notary public. Or, I will be soon. I just have to actually take the test...

-New Mexico. My new least favorite state.

-New issue of The Barrel.

-New resolve to look not behind me. 2010 was a pretty good year and I have little to no complaints. It'd be easy to spend my time looking back on it and wishing I could relive certain things, but I'd rather not turn into a pillar of salt. So, I'm looking forward to 2011 with the belief that it'll be just as good as, or better than, 2010.

Yeah for "booooooooooots"! I think they look awesome. I figure no one can go wrong with boots like that. I love the couches. I want to come sit in them someday.

LOVE the boots. You're totally not a poser. And the couches?! Love them too. You've got great taste!

Oh! Please DO make the brownies and then I'll come and sit on your (excellent) new couch and make sure you don't eat them yourself (yes, I will break my diet for you. Just so I can sit on those couches.)

Sounds like you're getting 2011 off to a great start!

Rawr! I have some boots like those. I thought they would be comfrotable because the heel was lower, but they are some of the most painful ones I own.

I love your boots too! They are awesome. And I'm sure you look fabulous in them.

You're the best, Barb! Also, I think you totally rock those boots. HOT.

Who are you?! You have animal print pillows, red satin pillows, and the hottest boots, EVER (which I am totally jealous of, by the way!)!!! I LOVE your new look!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You don't look like a poser! Of course, we can't see all of you with the boots on at the same time, so it could be a different story . . .hee hee

It's so funny, I was just thinking the other day if you were considering changing your blog look. It's so cute but everyone seems to change theirs once in a while. Except me. I live in dread of re-doing all the widgets.

I dig the boots! I seriously wear black boots every Sunday in the winter because they are so warm. Yayyy for your new boots.
Your new couches are beautiful.
Congrats on being a Notary Public.
I can tell 2011 is starting off great for you.

Now why do you dislike New Mexico?
(I don't like it much either but I am just nosey) :-D

I'm coming over to try out those new couches! They're not only cool looking but comfy looking!

I want boots SO BAD! I have a hard time picturing me in anything but Grandma boots and I don't want those! You look rockin' in your boots.

Thanks for introducing me to The Barrel. I'd never heard of that!

2011 is going to be a good year!

Love the boots!! You should wear them every where :)

So is your new Ward calling as picture taker going to involve taking pix of people in their boots cuz your pose is awesome! Makes me want a pair of boots, except anything with a heel kills my feet. (too many years of abuse with 12 hour shifts)

New Mexico? Really?
Why so bitter?

I hope you totally take 2011 by the horns!

The couch is lovely! Great sense of style!!!

OK did you go to the bowl game and that is why you don't like New Mexico? I came this close to going, but I opted for the saner, thrifty option of watching in my PJ's from the warmth of my couch.

Love the boots, but I'm with you. I never wear that kind of stuff and would probably feel out of place. Nice couches. The color is perfect because you have to clean way less often!

May I have your ward calling? I am the new formerly-known-as-enrichment leader, and I'm not overly excited about it.

I am excited about your boots though! And a new blog background. How fun. I love makeovers!

Love the boots!

I heard Santa Fe is nice.

Love the couches.

And I am always scared to death that when I change my blog template I will lose everything.

Why do you NOT like New Mexico??
great living room furniture, now I can come visit you, I was just waiting for something to sit on. (tee, hee)
New ward calling....picture taker...WHY didn't they have something like that when I was active. I could sorta do that. I may have to ask my Bish about it.

and as for 2011.........I am looking for EPIC this year.

LOVE the couches.
Jealous of your new calling {I just got a new calling too - nursery - yikes!}
LOVE, {loooooove} the new boots! Of course you can pull them off. If you like them, and they make you happy, they HAVE to look good. It's like, a law of like, nature...or something.

Good for you for getting out of your comfort zone.

I love the boots, too!! Where'd you get em? I'm just the same way when it comes to wearing something new... "But I don't really wear hats? Can I pull off a hat? Am I a hat person?"

The boots are great! Am jealous!

What do you have against New Mexico? Perhaps you just don't like southern New Mexico. Northern New Mexico is beautiful, although I might be just a little bit bias. Good luck in 2011! Good luck to us all... :-)

2011 will be BETTER!!! Your boots are great stop worrying about it!

I am in love with your couches! Those are gorgeous! What a cute house you have.

I like the boots. I've never ever owned a pair either but that has more to do with the size of my calf more than anything. :)

Ok how does one get a calling like that at church? I'd agree, best calling ever.

2011 will be greater if we see each other more than we did in 2010!!!
