Singles Vaccination

I drove past a drug store the other day that advertised "Singles Vaccination." I didn't realize that being unattached had turned into an epidemic. But hey, if they've got the cure, I'll subject myself to a shot.

Then I looked again and it said "sHingles Vaccination." Rats. I'm not really familiar with shingles, so I looked it up. Wikipedia says, "It is characterised by pain and a blistering rash that occurs along the nerves...The disease starts with tingling, itchiness, or pain on an infected person's skin. After a few days, the disease causes a blistering rash."

I'm not sure if singles or shingles is worse?

And hey, it's my birthday! For my present, go here and read The Barrel. It's great.

I could have told you that. I believe I've compared being single to leprosy, on several occasions.

Happy birthday! Hope you can find some joy in your single life! :)

That is pretty funny. Hope you have a great birthday.

I wish I knew of a cure for singleness. If I ever hear of one I will be sure to let you know.

Perhaps I should send you a get well soon card.

Happy Birthday!!!!

and I've had a few of those mis-reading moments lately... notably a "Biotech Firm going Under" headline... My brain didn't process the "e" of the first word and I had to wonder what kind of company specializes in making those?

So when I first read the title I thought it said, "Singles Vacation" and I thought, "SIGN ME UP!!!" After reading the post I was confused why you had titled it such, and then realized that I was being a little slow! The best part is, when I was scanning the comment right above mine, I totally missed the "e" as well. Wow. I suppose that's what comes of teaching Kindergarten. The reading skills are quickly declining!!!

P.S. Happy birthday a day late. Sorry I was lame and didn't say happy birthday on time!

Happy Belated!! And that is hilarious. Yeah, they should come up with a vaccination for that ailment, though. And my dad has had shingles. I understand it's terrible.

Happy birthday, Barb! I think I would take single over shingles.

Believe me when I say there are many things worse than being single...shingles is one of them!

I remember as a child, seeing a sign in a restaurant window that said, "Homemade Children". It kinda freaked me out to think they'd be serving homemade children until I looked again and noticed it read Homemade chili! OK, that was dumb but just another example.

I hope you had a very happy birthday!

Happy birthday! Sorry I'm so late, I took a blog break last week. Maybe if you got the vaccination it would clear up the singles... or you could just check and see if the technition is male and single...

It's your birthday. WHAT THE HECK...I didn't want to miss out on wishing you a happy birthday.

this made me giggle...shingles/singles.
Oh Barb...I have nothing brillant to help you with this one. I'd probably say all the stupid cliche things.
But, just so ya know...marriage often times gives you a rash (tee, hee)

Ha! I saw that sign and had to read it twice. Once out loud to be sure my husband had noticed it. That led to a discussion of other things it would be great to have vaccinations for. We didn't come up with singles though.

Super funny post because I saw that same sign and it took me two looks to get it too.

Too funny about the vaccination!

Happy belated birthday. I hope you don't get shingles. Although I still think shingles would be better than getting the wrong guy.

My computer just ate my comment. Twice. I think. Hugs!

Hahaha, I believe I had those same symptoms when I was single too. :) Marriage is fabulous, but all in good time, there are things I miss of the single life. Live it up!

That's awesome.

I didn't get a vaccination, I just drank a magic potion, passed out and woke up married. (It's times like this that my jokes would be much funnier if I drank.)

And happy belated birthday! I hope that it ROCKED YOUR SOCKS OFF.
