Drink With Me, To Days Gone By

No-I don't actually want you to drink with me. Unless you're wanting to drink Stephen's Hot Chocolate cuz that stuff is tasty!

I went and saw Les Mis at Tuacahn recently and it was amazing. While they sang "Drink With Me" I started thinking, reminiscing if you will, about the past. Whenever I get asked the question "what superpower would I want if I could have one"(oddly enough it's a common question) rather than wish for flight or mind-reading, I wish for the ability to control time. Mostly I think this would be really handy when I have to wake up early in the morning. I could freeze time, sleep as long as I wanted, and then get up.

Also, it'd be nice to fast forward through awkward blind dates.

But, would I ever use the rewind option? I mean, granted it'd be nice to go back in time and avoid stupid mistakes, or remind yourself that you really don't need to eat a ton of junk food, or drive home a different way so you don't get in that accident. Right? But then again, you'd have to re-live all the other stuff, too. (You can't just fast forward back to where you were: my game, my rules.)

Would being able to go back, knowing what you know now, and hang out with that one guy, or avoid going to that certain party, or never watch the "Nanny Diaries" cuz it was the stupidest movie ever, be worth having to re-write your papers, re-take your final exams or re-live other painful moments? Or is it better to just learn from your experiences, remember the good times and not wish for a repeat?

If you had a chance to go back, would you?

Heck, I'd just be happy with the sleep as long as you want superpower!

If I had a superhero power, it would be the ability to zap people who were stuck in negative/unfulfilled lives! I'd have a special beam that shot out of my eyes and all I would do is look into people's eyes and 'ta dah' they would blink and see a world full of possibility - And options to make them happen! Thanks for the Monday 'deep superhero' thoughts! Cheers to life and no REWIND button. (Thank heavens) - forward people forward!! :)

I'm all about moving forward, like wendy! There really isn't anything that I regret doing so much that I'd want to go back and do it again. Plus, we'd never learn to repent!

Now you've got me thinking about what super power I would want. . . Hmmmmmmm.

I'D DEFINITELY GO BACK AND KEEP RUNNING WHEN I WAS ABLE TO RUN & MAINTAIN THAT....I CAN'T EVEN RUN TO THE MAILBOX NOW-A-DAYS WITHOUT HEAVING AND GASPING FOR AIR!!!!

I LOVED LOVED LOVED Les Miserables at the Tuacahn. Wasn't it fantastic? I've seen it on Broadway about 6 times and I think it was as good or better at Tuacahn. And LOVE that song Drink with Me!

About the time question. I just think someone should invent time breeding. You take two hours, put them together in a room . . . alone, with a little candle light and some Michael Buble, and let them multiply and replenish the earth. (I think I better blog about that.)

The sleeping part would be heavenly. There are a couple of papers I'd really like another go at. And I definitely would not read my mail while driving if I could go back. However, I think I'd be petrified of messing up my here-and-now. Overall - not worth the risk.

I would LOVE to go back and do it all again but have the wisdom I have now.

Without my wisdom? Not so much.

I thought this post was going to be about me and my singing dang it! Just kidding. Hey, I am finished with Breaking Dawn, and now I don't know what to do with myself. (sniff sniff) that was my sort of crying. I am pretty sad to be finished, but a good ending eh?

I would never go back. All I can think about is fifth grade and pretty plus pants. I'm sorry, but putting "pretty" in front of the word "plus" does not make a chubby eleven-year-old feel better about the fact that her mother had to special order those pretty plus jeans from the penny's catalogue. Like I want to relive that?

You know, I had some pretty sweet moments I'd love to go back and go through again, but it's definitely not worth all that other crap. So my answer is NO!

I probably wouldn't want to go back unless I could make myself prettier...than I definitely would! :)

hi!
i blogg hopped here. i hope you don't mind comments from lurkers/stalkers.
(if you do, i would use my super powers to go back and remove these comments)
i actually might like to have those powers. there are some things i'd like to go back and change. but, then again, there are lots of things i'd rather not re-live, so, tough call.

p.s.
did you catch the sound of music at tuachan? i've heard it was really good too. and i've been thinking about making a trip out of it.

Okay-you've mostly convinced me that I should keep with the moving forward thing. Except you Em---I wanna another 'She's The Man'/Chocolate Day extravaganza. Please.

And Annie---you win for convincing me that reliving the pain wouldn't be worth reliving the good times. It's all about salami, eh?

Shelle-any tips on how to make yourself hotter by going back in time? Cuz I could use those!

I'd go back in a millasecond and do something over again. and I don't think it would change anything but it would have helped me to let go.

Wow, thought provoking and funny and entertaining at the same time. You are so cool. I have no answer to this questions. I prefer to leave it in the realm of floating "things that make you go hmmm."

I'm still in the middle of it. I'm not in high school anymore, but I can't seem to escape the drama. I would gladly move forward about five years though.
