Some Stuff

1. I hate Lent. 43 days left...

2. Does anyone else think Hugh Jackman would make the BEST Jean Valjean in the movie version of Les Mis (musical of course)? Holy cow---that's all I could think of when I watched Oscar clips on YouTube. (Cuz it was too boring and self-promoting to watch ALL of it in real life---I mean, you know I love celebrities and all, just not 4 hours-worth of them).

3. So, those Verizon commercials with the network of people? Would anyone else get totally annoyed with that massive crowd walking behind you all the time? Just thinking about it makes me feel all agoraphobe-ish.

4. I just found this statement online whilst looking for training tips for marathoning:
This race saw its inception after a Greek messenger from 400 BC ran from a town called Marathon to Athens, a distance of 26.2 miles or roughly 40 kilometers. Assigned to report the victory of the Athenians over Persia, he arrived in Athens and cried, "We have won!" ,and then dropped dead.
Awesome. Can't wait for my death.

Me either, as in I can't wait for my death. I am planning on running a marathon. That is, if I don't die trying. When are you planning to run? I am shooting for the end of May!
Let's just pretend he died because he didn't train like us, right?

Let me know when you die. I'd like to read a eulogy at your funeral.

It may mention Peanut Butter Cups a few times.

HAHAHAHAAA! I always feel I'm about to drop dead when I'm doing my aerobics but the instructors keep saying, "don't you feel great!" I keep waiting for the day I feel great...

I agree about Hugh, he really needs to do a musical.

I was going to post a funny comment, but I reread it too many times and now it sounds stale. Now all I can think of is..have a nice run.

2. YES! Hugh should be in every musical from now on.

3. I really thought I was the only one who felt this way.

Hugh has actually done a lot of musicals. He did a Broadway show about some famous guy whose name I forget and I saw him on TV as Curly in Oklahoma. He would be perfect as Jean Valjean (one of my fave literary heros) but I'm afraid he is tied up just now making the film version of Miss Delacourt Speaks Her Mind. Just saying.

I love LES MISERABLES...you crazy girl! lol!

If you DO die after running the marathon...will you put in a good word for me up in Heaven? Just saying...it's all who you know!

On that #3... Can I ask them to do stuff for me? You know - make calls, send for take-out, pick up my kids at dance practice?
Because then it wouldn't bother me at all.

Hugh Jackman!Yummy! I think he qualifies as junk food!

I thought about a marathon...once!

Maybe you should stick with verizon for your marathon. That way when you feel like you're going to die, your network can just pick you up and carry you!

And really you won't die, you might feel you'll feel like your going to somewhere between miles 20-25, but once you cross the finish line, death won't be on your mind. (Plus, if Hugh Jackman is waiting at the finish line, maybe he'll sing to you!)

rychelle said...

That's why I DON'T run. For health reasons.

LisAway said...

Wow, a marathon, eh? If I ever decided to try to run one (I never will) I'm sure I would die at the end (or before) too! (Which is the very reason I never will attempt it.)

elesa said...

So will you please just tell me what to type into YouTube search engine so that I can find that video of Hugh Jackman?

Hoggards said...

All I can say is why the crap haven't they made a Les Mis musical (movie) yet??? Still waiting!
And I know I would drop dead trying to run a marathon! Good luck to you!

I want to run the original Marathon someday. They still run it from Marathon to Athens every year. That is my ultimate running goal is to go to Athens and run it. Wouldn't it be fun? Oh, and just so you know, Lent is technically only 40 days long. It officially ends the Thursday before Easter.

Hugh Jackman as Jean Valjean would be perfect... much better than whatever old movie version I tried to make my hubby watch to convince him that it was a GREAT book/musical... he didn't love the movie, but he liked the musical!

I think the Verizon people would be a lot of fun to travel around with... until I wanted a seat in a restaurant... or had to get in an elevator...

Marathons are of the devil - of course, that doesn't mean that dropping dead while running immediately sends you to Hades, but I'm not pushing my luck...

J. Baxter said...

And just think - no one even recorded his time. I guess that means if you want to beat him you have to die BEFORE you can speak.

seriously if I saw that big group of people following behind me I would probably go ape on them and start punching people left and right. it totally makes my skin crawl just thinking of it.

Debbie said...

And that, in a nutshell, is why I don't run.

Yes, yes, and I am going to be sad to see you go. But really, that quote is way too funny. Yeah, I am sooooo glad you aren't in AZ this year, member how much pickles was in anguish last year cause you couldn't hold her that first day she was born. SUPER!!! And yesterday, she felt pretty betrayed you didn't even come say hi....just kidding, see you in a few! Steak!!!! HUNGRY!!!!

Hugh Jackman would make even Charlie Brown look good. As far as I'm concerned, he could star in any musical and I would get front row seats!

And I can't imagine running myself to death either. I'd prefer a much painless death --- like a million paper cuts all over my body and a lemon juice sponge bath. Yup. That's my personal choice for my demise.

Hugh Jackman would be great in ANY role, ANYwhere, ANYtime...

Lent? Really? Go you and such.

Hugh Jackman? Yes. Yes. and... Yes.

Verizon Commercials? Painful
Actually having those people follow me around all day? Painful-er.

Plus, am I the only who thinks that they've beaten a horse to death with that whole idea by now?

C'mon, we're like, 20 commercials into this. They are rivaling the Taco Bell Chihuahua for cryin' out loud.

Marathon? You're more woman than me. I would totally run one if I didn't anticipate a leg falling off of me half way through. That would be embarrassing. (painful too, I'd imagine, but I'm more concerned with it being embarassing...)

Hugh Jackman as Valjean? HOLY INSPIRED!

You have my vote for President.

You and Domestically Disabled are blogging and running buddies. That little fact makes my heart sing with joy.

Oh, and,
Hugh Jackman + Jean Valjean = pure brilliance,

and, two votes for you for president.

Holy comments Batman! Well, I just have to add in here that if you can resurrect yourself from the Moab race by November 14 there is a marathon here in Grand Junction that goes through the Colorado National Monument. It would be pretty sweet! Maybe Tristan would get up enough motivation to do it with you...

Ha ha! By the time I got to 6, I'd forgotten all about 10 - genius! Time for nap.

NEED I SAY MORE --running long distances causes instant death. However, sitting at computer with diet coke and ding dong ----certain prolonged life. Ahhhhhh, that's what I'm talking about.

Your #4 is my #1 for never ever running a marathon. In fact the most running I've done for almost two months is across the house when the microwave dings.

But, um, good luck with your training!
