Apparently I Feel Like Being Random Today

I'm still not crazy about blogging these days, but I feel like forcing out some random things today. If it feels forced...well, like I just said, it is.

~

I never get sick. It's a weird source of pride for me. And yet, for the past three days, I haven't necessarily been able to breath, my head hurts and I've been forced to gargle with salt water in the morning. I'm not sure what this means.

~

I've never told anyone that wasn't family that I loved them. Because I don't think I do. I might like them a lot, but that's not the same thing. When my friends say good-bye to me it's always, "K bye. Love you." I usually respond with a "See you later." Sometimes I wonder if they notice that.

~

Supposedly I'm going off junk food for Lent again this year. I have no idea where those candy wrappers in my garbage can came from!! I may need some help in the self-discipline area this time around.

~

I used to think I wanted one little girl. Now I think I want none cuz then I will have no money. Every time I see cute little girl clothes it's all I can do not to buy them for my nieces. They I remember that I need to pay for other things like food and mortgage.

~

I'm done forcing. Have a good weekend!

I've gotten more comfortable telling friends I love them, but I almost never say it to them first. It does take me aback a little if someone says that as they are hanging up with me.

Love the randomness!
Glad you never get sick AND
that you have totally given up sweets for Lent.
Way to go you are my hero!
(did they taste good?)

You are wise beyond your years.

Yeah, girls are way more expensive than boys. You can give a boy a stick and he'll be entertained for hours. Of course someone usually ends up bleeding in the end - but that stick was great entertainment until then.

I don't tell people I love them either. It's weird. Why do people say that like it's all casual and normal? Sometimes it even bugs me when my husband says it - like it's just what you're supposed to say, so he does. Those are the times that I answer with, "Ok."

Seriously, just have no kids if you want to keep your money. They seriously have a way of sucking a checking account dry.

Speaking of Random I totally had a dream that you and I were in a dance competition doing the electric slide and you kept trying to push me off the stage. HAHAHAPrego ladies have crazy dreams, what can I say

I love you. I truly do. No sacrasm intended. Jake Ryan (from Wild Hearts Can't Be Broken) loves you too, even if you do go blind from landing in the water wrong because your horse freaks out.

What the what!!! You don't love me?! I am hurt.I will send McFly. You will do a better job and I could use the money.

I enjoyed every single FORCED thought.
I hardly ever EVER get sick either. The only time I do is when I am pregnant????ah----j/k

I always say I LOVE YOU. to almost everyone. Does that diminish the saying?? If I say it to my grocer as he bags up the grocerys --thanks, I love you.

My mom hardly EVER would say I love you. SO I DO.
I love you Barb.

but maybe we use it to flippantly.
Jesus said Love everyone.
I am totally running off at the mouth as usual.

I'd never go off junk food. and if they add it in the word of wisdom I'll be pissed.

buying for little girls is the most fun ever.

I've no willpower to spare - I don't even have enough to keep myself from grabbing a snack or two KNOWING full well that my class reunion is mere months away...

glad I'm not the only one suffering from the blogging funk, but it's good to see your "forced" posts now and then :)

See, you still have it even if it's forced! Hope you get feeling better. I think those candy bars will help!

LOL @ Queen! I wouldn't be surprised if the hurting head is from stress....not that you are stressed or avoiding anything.

I was thinking of doing something good for lent instead of dropping something bad. Hmmmm

I like your forced thoughts.

How are things going with your TV addict roomie?

I've said "I love you" to my husband and kids, and that's it.
But I have no problem saying stuff like "I love life cereal" or "I love your shoes."
It's weird.

I remember on my mission that my companions used to say it as soon as we would meet and I had a hard time with that. It takes a bit to really love someone. I say it to my family (especially to my brothers but that's mostly just cuz it bugs them :-) but never to my friends. My sister is just the opposite.

The trick with getting a child is adopting with ur sister so you can both be a good influence on each other.... at least that's the plan!

I bet your roommates have been eating candy and sneaking the wrappers in to your trash! How rude.

I always pretend like Benjy uses my trash can. It makes me feel better.

Lara said...

Oh yes. You are right. Those little girls and all their little girly stuff are money suckers. But it's still lots of fun.

Good luck with lent. That willpower is so hard. You'll find it. Maybe it's under the candy wrappers in the garbage?

Random is good.

I love that even when you don't think you have anything to blog about, you still get three times as many comments as me. People want to hear what you have to say! Even if you think it's random! Keep writing -- the brain funk will work its way out eventually!

Sorry you're sick. I have a weird memory of gargling salt water at your house. I hated it.

You will *NEVER* have money if you have a girl! Yikes, it's awful.

Shrinky said...

The "L" word is hugely over-used, it's best to save it for when it's true. You can have money, or you can have kids, never the twain together! (Especially if you opt for two of each, then are stupid enough to pay school fees - sigh..)

Nice meeting you, hope you feel better soon.

Cynthia said...

There's nothing wrong with not throwing that word around easily. It will just mean that much more to those who are lucky enough to hear it.

And you WILL have NO money- and not just because of the clothes.

I don't often get sick either and I share your awkward pride in the fact. Except I have 2 kids home sick today so maybe I'll get it afterall. See what they do? Broke AND sick!

The Crash Test Dummy said...

That didn't seem forced at all. I liked it. A lot!

You are such a cutie patootie.

Sara @ Domestically Challenged said...

I love you is a tough thing to say, and you obviously take it seriously- there is nothing wrong with that. For some it is easier to say and others take it lighter. no need to feel bad!

annie valentine said...

I tell everyone I love them. When I check out at the grocery store, I usually say, "Thank you so much! I love you, have a great day!" People are sometimes frightened of me.

sara said...

I hear you on the mortgage over kids thing. I just don't see how kids will give me the same pleasure that my home does. Oh, and the "love you" to friends thing. I agree with you 100%. It's awkward and abnormal in my opinion.

I don't get sick very often either. I have this vague notion that it's due to the running. Kinda stirs up all my antibodies every morning or something. What do you think?

Hey I decided to come say "Hi" - You visit alot of the same blogs I do - Maybe we should be friends (wink)!
Also, today is Dr. Suess's birthday and you have a Dr. Suess Icon - Sweeeeeet!!

It is also Bon Jovi's birthday but that is a whole different story!

Anyway, just came to say "HI"!

Before I had my son I'd always find cute boy clothes and buy them for my sister (who makes way more money then me). Weird that I just felt like I needed to buy him stuff though.

Great post Barb. Loved it. And the fact that you ever even participated in Lent at all shows that you have self control. I've never been able to show that myself! Serious props!

barb - you need to teach me how to be so popular and get lots of friends that want to read my blog...you have lots!

Ever since I was put in the nursery a little over a year ago I get sick almost every week. It makes me bitter. BITTER! And I'm pretty sure that if you can't breathe then you probably can't taste the candy. So maybe that gives you Lent Leniency? Or maybe it's all about making an effort to do better.

Hope you're feeling better!

I just want you to know, I kind of like the "random" thoughts.
I haven't felt like blogging much either. The only reason I've even been blogging at all is that I might turn my blog into a scrapbook someday.
Anyway.....I still enjoy coming over here and reading about you.

Sorry you've been feeling bleh. I've missed your posts and your comments...
I never get sick, either. But this winter I got that nasty whatever (that which Might be the Swine flu but not quite enough so to risk going to the Dr and getting infected for REal with the actual Swine flu...)
and a couple weeks ago got a nasty stuffy head cold, cough, sore throat, for the first time in about 7 years. So I know just how you feel.

What's going on, friend? Have you left the blogosphere, or are you still keeping a toe in the pond? Whatever the case may be, I just wanted to stop by and say hello.

You're still one of my favorite people around. :)

I have a major "I love you" hangup too - think it stems from my childhood; if only we could all do the fistpump instead
