What Do You Do At Family Reunions?

Do you...

...Hang out with your 14 year-old nephew that has no business being taller than you? (Same with the 13 and 11 year old nieces, and 12 year old nephew.)

...Have a monster slip-n-slide for the little kids?

...Or the big kids?

..Or the gorilla?

...Have two year olds struggle with swimsuit modesty?

...Or one year olds struggle with swimsuits in general?

...Have so many photographers that it'll take 8 years to make it through ALL the pictures taken during the week?

...Participate in strategic planning sessions for the Gold Medal (aka Snickers) in Family Olympics?

...Get confused and embarrassed after you hold hands with the wrong dad? (Understandable when there are 11 to choose from.)

...Stay up till 2:00 or 3:00 a.m. every night playing volleyball and soccer?

...Attempt to fit 27 adults and 42 kids into a cabin with 40 person capacity?

No? That's just my family?
Good to know.

The gorilla makes the whole reunion in my opinion. Nice. Can I join your family? Doesn't sound like I'd be too much of an outcast~!!!

Sounds like crazy fun. No ours are the typical ones where we only talk to our own little families and half hate the other half. Which is why they only happen about every 5 to 10 years. :) in all seriousness that looks like super fun. where was that cabin?

So I'm trying to use deductive reasoning...are there 12-14 kids in your family? Looks like a rockin good time!

Yep, your family definitely is unique. But I love it! Those are all great pictures. So glad you guys had fun!

AWESOME!!! That's my kind of party! Favorite class I took at BYU was Recreation Management 400-something, and for our final exam, we had to organize and throw a family reunion for close to 500 people! It was awesome -- we had a HUGE snowball (a.k.a. rolled-up socks) fight in the Wilkinson center ballroom in July!

I think the absolute best thing about getting old will be to look around myself and see all 30 or so of us (guessing on the grandkids, etc here)crammed into an 18-bed cabin. Seriously, what else matters besides things like that?

You are blessed!

I've never been to a family reunion... mostly because my family has never had one. However, if we ever did, I'm sure there would be a gorilla involved. It only makes sense.

You never told me you have a gorilla in your family. You'd think that's something that would have come up!

We don't do family reunions...we all hate each other...and with good reason!

Holy Heck girl! That looks like a lot of fun. My family stopped reunions about 5 years ago- thanks to my power hungry uncle whom I am not a big fan of- and it makes me sad. I miss these kinds of moments.

I want a pet gorilla.

Did David come?

That sounds very like my husband's family. And if you don't mind me asking, where is said cabin? We have been scouring the earth for somewhere to fit slightly less people than you had and have so far found it to be impossible!

(19 adults, 33 children.)

I'm dying laughing over the niece-caught-all-up-in-her-swimsuit picture! That's hilarious! I saw your parents driving the other day--I knew it was them by the license plate :) and it warmed my heart. Tell them I said hello!

that is amazing! I can't believe you even have gorillas in your family!
...jealous....

FUN!

The swimsuit pictures made me giggle a lot.

And I think we need the gorilla story.

I want to have a family reunion.

That is WAY more fun than ours! How does one compare?

We sit around and eat... all.day.long. We eat so much it takes too much energy to be active!

BTW catching up and I can't BELIEVE you BUNGEE jumped! YOu brave brave girl!

I love it. I'm also from a big family (1 of 11). But your renuion looks so much fun. Our numbers have gotten so big, everyone whines when we try and get together. I'm so impressed to see all the fun times.

One question, did your gorilla moonwalk?

What a fun reunion! (anyway, that's how it looks to me)
My reunions last 3 hours and we're done and still don't know who Cousin Frankie is! My husband's reunions last 3 days and we're sorry we know who Cousin Frankie is! There's a fine line! I love them all!
