I'm Sufficiently Chastised

I know my friend, Camille, wasn't trying to chastise me. That's what she did, though. I've spent way too much time complaining lately. I'm too bored. I drink too much water. Boys are too dumb. And so on. So, I'm going to do what she suggested and list 10 things that I am thankful for today. This is not a pre-meditated post, and as such the list is in no particular order. I'm writing as the thoughts come.

1. My sister-in-law, Tricia, and my nephew, Zach, who have both introduced me to some great new books.
2. Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. Yum!
3. Elder Wirthlin's General Conference talk from October, 2006: Sunday Will Come.
4. Nights that are 70 degrees and perfect for playing Ultimate Frisbee.
5. The new band Buffy introduced me to: The Weepies. Especially their song, Gotta Have You.
6. My co-worker, Alanda. She listens to me being dramatic and let's me feel justified in said antics. Plus, she shares good boy stories with me and does a fun[ny] cow dance:)
7. The recently obtained knowledge that I can go buy a new phone because my current one got dropped and is now deformed. It's possible that it got dropped a lot....
8. Eric D. Snider. His blog is a continuous source of amusement.
9. The fact that I got to play with 4 of my brothers and their families yesterday. Hooray for family!
10. A good conversation on gmail chat last night. I got to talk with a good friend who I felt like had started to drift away, there was no drama and I came away feeling good about myself:)

Now, I challenge you (and by "you," I mean whoever is reading this) to do the same thing. Leave a comment about something for which you are thankful. Or write you own post about it. Or make a poster and stand on the road for everyone to see. Or write a song. Anything really. However, if you leave a comment it will make me happy because I'll think I have friends and/or readers and that will be one more reason for me to be thankful.

Also, if you read this and don't do something that resembles a thankful act, I'll judge you. Well...I guess I have no way of knowing who you are and whether you chose to be thankful or not, but know that if I did, I would judge you. And I mean that in the nicest way possible:)

I am thankful that my baby is sleeping right now. I will be even more thankful if he doesn't wake up for the next 8-10 hours.

You are right, I wasn't aiming my comments at you in any way. Yesterday was a crappy crappy day, and in the midst of the worst of that crap for some crazy reason, I realized a lot of things that could've made it much worse and was thankful. But I'm glad I inspired a blog entry for you! I think you're great Barbs!

So I don't want you to judge me so I will comment. (Plus, all I've done lately is complain-it's good you haven't seen me for the few months believe me). That brings me to what I'm grateful for- being able to see you today seriously it made my week and we need to do it more. I am grateful the ability to run and the feeling it gives me afterward. Also for friends that do things that they don't want to just because you ask them to. (I'm seriously not trying to make you feel guilty-I wouldn't have gone if I didn't have to either but I was glad I wasn't alone.)
And finally at the risk of sounding like a psycho blog stalker I'm also grateful for Buffy introducing me to the The Weepies too but I love Nobody Knows Me At All.

I am so glad that I can provide such good music for everyone! I love it! Mikaela is the one that introduced me to the Weepies, so it is her to thank! I am going to take you up on your "challange" so here I go!! You have to read it on my blog though!!! Barb you are great!

You're very inspiring Barb. One thing I have been super grateful for lately is the modern modes of transportation we have access to. I'm grateful planes (although getting more expensive) can take me from ND to family in UT in a matter of hours! I'm also super grateful we can travel by car, as I love any kind of road trip. Transportation by train is awesome as well, as we rode the train for about 24 hours a few weeks ago - it was relaxful and scenic. :)

So I know that this was posted a while ago...but it was a really good reminder for me! I don't want this to sound cheesy...but I really am thankful that I got on your blog tonight for two reasons. First, you reminded me to be thankful for something. Second, I have been laughing really hard! Thanks for the laugh...it makes me so happy!:)
